When we talk about nuclear power plants, we are talking about big topics, where the requirements are high in all aspects of a development project. When you’re also talking about ITER, everything steps up to highest level.
ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is the largest nuclear fusion reactor designed to date. It is estimated that it could start operating in 2025.
The objective of ITER is to determine the technological and economic feasibility of nuclear fusion by magnetic confinement to generate electricity.
This is something completely new and undiscovered, therefore it has many technical needs while also being ripe with opportunity.
Together with our client and project partner, in 2021 Invul developed a complete range of accessories for welding analysis based on rubber-metal parts with high technical requirements in terms of materials, performance and finishes, capable of absorbing high vacuum for hours.
In just 6 months we created 17 moulds and 421 accessories of different scales and geometries and completed the entire project to our client’s deadline.
The success of this project is due to many factors, but one was key: having a mould construction area within our facilities to be able to meet this deadline.
